 Artist's Biography Aaron Mazurek was born in Brockville, Ontario. With a father who owns a bakery, and a mother who teaches French and Sociology, he grew up appreciating the quiet moments of life in a small town. In 2005 he moved to Montreal, where he studied History and Political Science at McGill. Since the culmination of his degree, he has dedicated himself to developing his photography skills. He first discovered his love of photography on his trips abroad to both Mexico and France, where the difference in scenery made for great opportunities and chances to practice his skills. He has had no formal training in photography, but has seen changes in his own style as time has gone on and travelling opportunities have arisen. Travelling to Peru and India over the past three years have given some great opportunities for growth. After buying his first digital SLR in October 2010, he used the extra time away from school to soak up the cities around him such as Toronto, New York City, and his current home in Montreal. This series, The Transfer of Time covers the past three months of his work as the seasons have shifted in between autumn and winter. This is Aaron's first photography collection. |
